Crystals always assist us at every level of our being, both conscious and subconscious.  They are all around us in many forms, be it the sand on the beach or the earth beneath our feet.  We are becoming more attuned to crystals due to the evolutionary awakening of our bodies crystalline-base.  Some of us are more aware of this than other’s, however, it is very noticeable for those of us working with crystals just how many souls are suddenly being drawn to the crystals now, even though they don’t always understand why.

A delicate blue-green crystal with striations of white, like the sea gently foaming.  It's energy link is to the ocean, which is the place of primal creation where first life forms were transformed.  The first breath of life came from the oceans, we are at least 70% water, the blend of these two elements come together in Amazonite.

Air is water in it's freest form - the spirit of water, and water is the body of air, one cannot exist without the other.

The crystal chosen for now is Obsidian, which is mainly black, a colour often misunderstood and seen as dense, dark and the unknown, or non-identification.  Once understood however, it is that which enables us to completely identify and be at one with the light, whilst continuing to exist and function on the material plane.

Obsidian is an Amorphous stone, one which does not contain a regular geometric shape.  It is formed when lava, rich in silicic acid, cools extremely rapidly (a temperature shock) and no crystalline structure forms.  As a solidified molten mass containing vast amounts of natural minerals, water and gas bubbles, it often has an iridescent sheen of a single colour or rainbow shades, which are due to the bubbles.  With a hardness of 5-5.5, its chemical formula is SiO2+Fe2O2+H2O+Al,C,Ca,K,Na,Fe.

Obsidian vibrates to the number 3, highlighting our sincere yearning to express ourselves creatively, through our true talents.  It connects with the Astrological sign of Scorpio, the planet Pluto and the element of Water.  The name Obsidian is derived from the Roman, Obsius, and recorded as initially found in Ethiopia.

In ancient times Obsidian was sharpened and used for cutting or wounding, although amazingly one of its healing properties is to staunch the flow of blood.  It works with vascular contraction and aids circulation, even in difficult areas, e.g. hardened arteries.  Obsidian is also good for shock, possibly connected to its formation through ‘shock’ of extremely rapid cooling.  It works with both the Root Chakra and Earth Star to draw the finer energies of the higher chakras into the primal centres to be used for ego refinement and purification.  Indigenous peoples have used Obsidian for insight, the ‘asking stone’, it reflects like a mirror.

Black Obsidian is a very powerful stone and should be used with respect, especially in spherical form, which often displays concentric rings and defined bulls-eyes on the poles.  It is recommended to have some clear Quartz to balance the energies.

Like a ‘black hole’, Obsidian encourages us to go into the centre of our Soul Self where we can access higher information.  It can take the mind through the darkened areas of the sub-conscious to establish identity in the super conscious.  Being connected to Pluto, it does not cater for the ego!  It is ‘The Warrior of Truth’.

By clearing whatever magnets exist in our past or future expressions that keep our consciousness and actions attached to the illusion of time and space, we can untie the knots in our multi-existing selves and create a bridge of consciousness between them, upon which the Light of the Soul can traverse.  We can begin to understand the amazing powers of advanced forgiveness, and how living an ‘unconditional life’ means that we have nothing to forgive.

Obsidian holds the Light within the dark, it’s opposite within itself.  It is balanced, holds all things and reflects all things.  It’s centre is it’s reflection, a mirror of our Soul, The Universe.

Around 75% of Earth’s surface is covered by water.  If you have a bowl of water and tip it slightly, the water will find its level again.  Our lives follow this pattern and eventually, after all the challenges, releases and upheavals we will once again find balance.

The crystal chosen for now is Turquoise, which brings balance.  It is the colour of our vast oceans, which reflect the wondrous blue of our heavenly Universe; as above, so below.Turquoise is a copper aluminium phosphate mineral and its striking blue colour is caused by copper.  It is formed in a triclinic structure, has a hardness of 5-6 and its chemical formula is: CuAl6 [(Oh)2/PO4]4+4H2O+Fe.  Turquoise generally vibrates to the number 1, highlighting our belief in self, self-confidence and the strength of will to go one’s own way, independence and starting anew.  It connects with the Astrological signs of Pisces, Scorpio, Virgo, Gemini and the planet Mercury.

The name Turquoise is derived from the word Turques and Turquois and means ‘Turkish stone’ because the trade from the Asian mines was mainly through Turkish bazaars.  Turquoise is known to date back to 2100 BC in Iran, being its national gemstone, and is highly revered in many other countries.

Native American’s have used Turquoise for many different reasons throughout all the various tribes and their teachings are passed down through great wisdom and knowledge.  In their ‘Give-Away Ceremonies’ they teach that the more you release, the more you receive, for that is nature’s way.  As we receive the new energies and begin to integrate these into our lives, Turquoise can aid us in finding our ‘balance’ again.

Turquoise resonates strongly with our 5th Chakra, the throat, and helps us to express our truth through the power of the spoken word.  Through a balanced chakra we can have clarity in the communication of our emotional expression.  All other chakras are also strengthened and aligned with the use of Turquoise, along with our meridians and subtle bodies.  This can facilitate an elevation of all the chakras and allow our physical and higher planes of existence to ‘attune’.

Turquoise helps to balance the male/female aspects of ourselves as well as acknowledge and accept our whole self as part of the Divine Source.  Through embracing and integrating these aspects we can truly become whole.

As everything finds its balance and we move towards completion, a corner is turned and a new perspective opens up.  We find ourselves reflecting upon this new avenue and as we gather our thoughts and feelings together, we gradually move towards the next step.  Turquoise bestows inner calm yet allows us to be wide awake, lively and ready to act.  It enhances our intuition and through creative communication within the feeling side of our being, we can experience our individuation unfolding.

Our awareness of living in our ‘Truth’ constantly evolves.  We are experiencing this at such depths within us right now that we consequently find ourselves releasing previously ‘locked’ energies beyond our prior concepts.  For many this can stir up very old emotions that had been considered ‘dealt with’.

The crystal chosen for now is Amethyst and it is here to say ‘Let go and Trust’.  It is a stone which connects to the Soul and helps us to surrender beyond cycles and circumstances of the physical world.  Then we can humble ourselves to the powers of the Universe and realise the higher consciousness.

Amethyst is a variety of Quartz which occurs throughout the world.  The presence of iron and aluminium in Quartz produces Amethyst and the amounts vary the intensity of the purple colouration.  It is formed in a trigonal crystal system, has a hardness of 7 and its chemical formula is: SiO2 + (Al, Fe, Ca, Mg, Li, Na).  Amethyst vibrates to the number 3, highlighting our gift of fun and a deep yearning to express ourselves creatively, sharing our true talents.  It connects with the Astrological signs of Pisces, Virgo, Aquarius and Capricorn.

The name Amethyst derives from Greece and means ‘not drunken’ (amethystos).  Also, considered in terms of not ‘intoxicated’ we can see how it’s transmutational abilities have a detoxifying and cleansing effect on us through all levels, not just the physical.

Its purple ray is the colour we sometimes glimpse during sunset, as dusk transforms daylight into darkness, symbolising the change of consciousness and altered awareness.  Amethyst reflects the essence of magic and the ability to transform from one reality to another.

As one of the best crystals for meditation, it gently ushers us through, calming mundane thoughts, bringing tranquillity.  Here our awareness can reach beyond Self and gain a deeper understanding of the Whole.  As we surrender through humility we can cross the threshold into the realm of true knowing and wisdom.  Once we realise our personal limitations to conceptions and, that our senses perceive only some of the truth, we can grasp the meaning of life and existence. Amethyst helps us to traverse, so that we can let go and trust.  When we let go of all that we believe to be real, we can find the ultimate reality.

Amethyst is a useful stone for people who are grieving over loss.  It subliminally communicates that there is only transitioning and the change of form, rather than death.  This can be applied to various stages of our lives as we move through changes in work and relationships too.

Amethyst is representative of the principles of complete metamorphosis.  Allow yourself to connect with this crystal and just ‘Let go and Trust’.

From what we first thought was our inner, murky depths, a place we feared to enter; when the Light penetrated our crystalline core we began to reflect our ‘Truth’.  Then as we resonated with this amazing feeling, one by one, the layers became more translucent and revealed the many facets of our True Selves.

The crystal chosen for now is Labradorite and it is an excellent stone for showing us a perfect example of the above.  It can seem like a dark and murky rock until it receives light in a particular way, and then it reflects an amazing inner depth of such stunning, beautiful colours.

This plaglioclase feldspar crystal is named after the Labrador peninsular in Canada where it was first found in 1770.  Labradorite is a sodium calcium aluminium silicate with a hardness of 6 to 6.5.  Chemical formula: Na[AlSi3O8]Ca[Al2Si2O8] + Fe,K,Ba,Sr.  Its crystal system is triclinic and it vibrates to the number 6, highlighting our gift of perception and a deep yearning to feel part of the ‘whole’.  Labradorite connects with the Astrological signs of Sagittarius, Scorpio and Leo.

The remarkable play of colour that Labradorite is treasured for is called ‘Labradorescence’.  This occurs through the selective absorption of certain wavelengths of light, which causes the ‘transmitted’ light to appear coloured.  These are seen as vivid flashes of electric blue, green, gold, orange, red and sometimes violet.

Labradorite has the ability to assist us in many ways, which are beneficial and relevant to us at this particular time.  Importantly, it aids us in maintaining a clear and balanced energy system, which facilitates the ideal sanctum for us to transform.

As our ‘truth’ emerges from our Inner Selves, Labradorite assists this revealing process.  Known as the ‘illusion killer’, our goals and intentions become clearer as our intuition is fortified.  We find strength and perseverance to sustain us through the transforming processes deep within.  A sense of peace overrides any disturbing thoughts in our ‘mind chatter’ as clarity seeps through on a gentle wave of inner guidance.

Once we recognise the upliftment of this transformation, we become familiar again that we are ‘Beings of Light’ and that we can transcend the limitations of the past.  And so we become more aware of our current situation rather than being clouded with thoughts of the past.  We are then better able to consider and understand more deeply the destiny we have chosen.

Labradorite is considered to have its luminescent ability from Galactic origins and therefore it’s Light is of alternative realities.  It helps us to go beyond aspects of familiarity and bring uniqueness, without judgement, into our presence.  As we recognise our synthesis of thought with intuitive wisdom and inner knowledge, we can bring forth the teachings of Universal harmony, further illuminating and advancing humanity today.

Here we are in a New Year with many experiencing new beginnings but somehow there is a very familiar feel to this and in a way it is a return to the ‘original’.  Crystals are helping to reflect this because they are from the very beginning, prehistoric, having formed from all the Elements.  Rocks and minerals have merged, morphed and brought forth many new varieties, however, the base elements are still the core of our earth.

This transluscent, fibrous crystal is named after Selene, Greek goddess of the moon, due to its luminous glow.  Selenite is a hydrous calcium sulphate mineral, a type of Gypsum formed by the evaporation of ancient seas and salt water lakes.  Chemical formula: CaSO4 2H2O.  Its crystal system is monoclinic and it has a hardness of 2.

Selenite vibrates to the number 8, taking us into our personal power, feeling at one with ourselves and naturally abundant.

Natural high quality Selenite crystals possess one of the clearest transparency qualities found within the crystal kingdom.  This degree of clarity reflects a pure beam of white light into any environment that the crystal is placed within.

Striated Selenite contains information from the great Alchemists, like lines in a book the recordings are written on the rays of white light, its striations are pathways for the substance of spirit.  Selenite builds the bridge for high frequency light to be integrated with the most subtle levels of form, bending pure white light to manifest onto the earth plane.

The crystal chosen for now is Apophyllite, the brightest of illumination, the ‘diamond light’.

This amazingly bright crystal is a phyllo or sheet silicate containing water that is formed hydro-thermally.  This means that it is much more conductive of energy.  Its name means ‘apo – to get’ and ‘phyllazein – leaf’.  Chemical formula:  KCa4[F/(Si4O10)] + 8H2O.  Its crystal system is tetragonal and it has a hardness of 5.

Whilst working closely with this crystal recently, I became aware of its strong connection to Dolphins and how some new babies currently being conceived are coming in from the Souls of the true Alchemists who left Atlantis and incarnated as Dolphins.

Upon further research to validate my findings, I discovered that Apophyllite vibrates to the Master No. 99 (associated with pyramids) of the higher realms and can be used to stimulate connection to inter-dimensional beings.  Pyramidal structures allow us to connect to our ‘Star Gate’.  Dolphins originate from Sirius and are often described, by those who have been in close proximity with them, as having triangular-based shapes of light/energy moving around them.  These waves and particles of energised sound and light affect our DNA, and we are very much aware of how Dolphins help us to heal, especially in cases where most other means have previously failed.

There is a strong connection here to the fact that Apophyllite contains water, a conductor of sound waves with an amazing ability to memorize energy patterns and, although water has a pliable lattice matrix capable of adopting many structural forms, Apophyllite’s structure is pyramidal.  This combination is then able to assist us through ‘entrainment’, a method of emitting a strong core frequency with which localised matter synchronises.

This crystal brings in a high frequency of light energy and serves our Soul level consciousness.  Also working with both our heart and mind, Apophyllite helps us to recognise and act upon the truth in all situations.

Our experiences at present are affecting us on all levels; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, some simultaneously.  As we move towards the integration of our ‘complete’ Soul Being, we are cleansing, healing and blending with all of our experiences on all levels, throughout all time, space and dimensions.  We are ‘surrendering’ our illusions and seeking the inner truth of who we really are, initially as individuals, however, once this is achieved, we can move towards integration of the ‘one’ consciousness.

Interestingly, the crystal chosen for this article is Lapis Lazuli, one of the power stones of the ages.  A soul purifier, it aids in cleansing the system making it free of impurities and toxins.

Lapis Lazuli is formed during the metamorphosis of chalk into marble and is mainly comprised of the mineral Lazurite (blue), along with Pyrite (gold) and Calcite (white).  Its name means ‘blue stone’.  Chemical formula:  (Na,Ca)8[(SO4/S/CI)2/(AlSiO4)6] + Fe.

Lapis has strong connections to ancient civilisations, eg. Egypt, when it was a symbol of power and royalty.  It represented the colour of the Gods and revered as a messenger from the heavens.

If you feel drawn to this crystal it will aid with purging and cleansing on all levels, including highly evolved souls.  It penetrates blockages, conscious and subconscious, in order to contact the intuitive neutral part of our Selves.  This process raises many old memory patterns with charged emotional wounds, therefore have a supportive stone like Rose Quartz to assist you.
